CASA SEAT is celebrating its 4th anniversary this month, consolidating its position as a cultural benchmark in Barcelona after receiving more than 675,000 visitors and organising over 1,200 events since it opened its door to the public and the city in June 2020.

Culture, mobility, comedy, sport and entrepreneurship are some of the main topics featured in CASA SEAT’s cultural programming this past season. The space has hosted prominent guests from a diverse range of disciplines who have shared their knowledge and talent with the public at conferences, debates and meetings held at CASA SEAT. The events have attracted close to 140,000 visitors to CASA SEAT over the last 12 months.

Cinema has been represented by the director and producer J.A. Bayona, global CUPRA ambassador; actors, directors, screenwriters and producers Los Javis; filmmaker and comedian José Corbacho and the film screening cycle “A summer of CINEMA” held in the CASA SEAT auditorium.

Influential artists such as Chanel, Love of Lesbian, Alex Ubago, Blanca Paloma and Abraham Mateo filled the space with music. Meanwhile, other areas such as politics, architecture, journalism and literature have been showcased by figures such as MACBA director Elvira Dyangani Ose, Barcelona mayor Jaume Collboni, sports journalist Gerard Romero and British writer and television personality David Walliams.

In addition, CASA SEAT has asserted its role as a place that connects people, ideas and projects by welcoming proposals and collaborating with other players, organisations and key institutions in society, such as the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona Global, the Fight Infections Foundation and the media.

A season of firsts

During this past season, CASA SEAT began a new phase in June 2023 under the leadership of Cristina Vall-Llosada and has introduced innovative projects and events to showcase new types of content in its cultural programming.

For the first time, CASA SEAT celebrated Halloween with live music and a virtual tunnel of terror, a fit pilates session was held by instructor and content creator Cocó Constans, as well as organised its first lifestyle market with Agosto Studio, featuring local women-led businesses and brands. In addition, a new stand-up comedy series has been created with comedians the likes of Txabi Franquesa, La Prados and Andrés Fajngold.

CASA SEAT has also added other novelties such as virtual reality experiences through VR headsets or immersive VR and AR experiences with Apple Vision Pro 3D cameras, the live broadcast of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 or the streaming of a football match on Twitch with Gerard Romero and the Jijantes TV team.

A point of reference in the city

Since its opening, CASA SEAT has become a meeting point in Barcelona and has integrated its events into the city’s cultural agenda.

The space has positioned itself as a cultural benchmark thanks to initiatives such as the Magic Days Christmas decorations, the themed celebrations for Halloween, Valentine’s Day and Sant Jordi’s Day, and several of its exhibitions.

A number of highly acclaimed exhibitions were held, such as Garage Takeover, the exhibition by urban artist and CUPRA Ambassador TvBoy, who has a permanent mural on the 1st floor of CASA SEAT; Illustrating Barcelona, with 30 illustrations created by artists who portrayed their personal vision of the city on the cover of The Barcelonian; and Pioneering Women, which paid tribute to the women who contributed to the development of the automotive sector.

A place for the mobility of the future

As an important showplace for the SEAT and CUPRA brands in Barcelona, and with the aim of continuing to promote the company’s values and strengthen the relationship with a variety of audiences, mobility has also been an integral part of CASA SEAT’s agenda.

In recent months, visitors to the space have enjoyed seeing some of CUPRA’s latest launches and prototypes, such as the CUPRA DarkRebel, a two-seater sports car with an electric drive, the CUPRA Tavascan, the brand’s first fully electric SUV coupé designed for emotional driving and fuelled by innovation, and the new CUPRA Formentor and CUPRA Leon.

In addition, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of one of the brand’s most iconic models, the SEAT Ibiza, CASA SEAT hosted the 5 generations of the SEAT Ibiza exhibition, which featured a model from each of its five generations from the SEAT Historic Car Collection.

10 hours of music to thank the city for the past four years

On 15 June, the space celebrated its fourth anniversary with “CASA SEAT Fest”, a 10-hour series of performances by artists from different musical genres from noon until after midnight. Throughout the day, CASA SEAT welcomed more than 600 concert-goers who enjoyed live music until 2 am.

The “CASA SEAT Fest” line-up on stage included the electronic music group OBK, urban music singer Boye, electronic pop artist Mira Paula, Catalan pop and trap singer Dani6ix & IZZKID, indie pop musicians Hey Kid and Maren and R&B, pop and electronic singer Dora. Following a two-hour break, Cucut & Arnau Obiols, Maria Satine and DJ Adrià, some of the most renowned DJs of Barcelona’s nightlife, brought the festival to a close starting at 11 pm.
